Reviews:

"If The Beatles and U2 raised an American son coming of age when ‘80s rock ruled, it might sound like this Nashville unknown flipping cool-kid memories into grownup melodies."
—Schradioactive

"Nashville's David Woodard has stumbled upon the perfect title for all of us middle-aged power poppers who came of age in the 70s and 80s (although I myself was never cool), and his debut EP reminds me of the godfather of Nashville power pop, Bill Lloyd (who himself has a great new album out which I may or may not get to before it ranks very high on my year-end list). Opener "We Didn't Know" is a wonderful wistful song which looks back on lost youth, while the title track is a jangly delight and "Chase After Me" recalls the kind of smart pop Lloyd is known for. Woodard closes out the EP with a quality cover of The Beatles' "Help!" and he also has a pretty good Christmas single out as a separate release."
—Absolute Powerpop (absolutepowerpop.blogspot.com)

David Woodard from Nashville, released his first Ep in November 2018. When I heard his songs for the first time, I couldn't believe that the man is not more popular yet. The Ep offers finest Jangle Pop and Power Pop with Beatles influences.
''Waiting For Christmas,'' released for Christmas 2018 was probably one of the best Christmas songs of 2018.

The song I Used To Be Cool'' is as far as I know only released on the Ep, but has absolute hit single qualities. The song has a great video and is as far as I know realized by his brother Noah. To make it short: The whole Ep with five songs convinces without exception with high-class pop/power pop and intelligent songwriting and I hope that David Woodard's first album will be released soon. Very recommendable.

about

David Woodard Nashville, Tennessee

David Woodard returns with GET IT GOOD, a full-length effort full of his trademark sugar-sweet melodies and harmonies. There is much more here than throwbacks to the Liverpool’s favorite sons. David influences are often on his sleeve as overtones of Fountains of Wayne, Cheap Trick, Big Star, The Rolling Stones, and even boygenius trickle from your speakers like familiar friends. ... more
