When I was young I spent my time dreaming my Christmas dreams Until that magic morning arrived I planned all my Christmas schemes Mom and dad always knew my game reminding me of Santa’s list Naughty or nice wasn’t too much to ask because no kid could resist I guess I’ll have to be good until then Until we all would be together standing around our tree We were waiting for Christmas all year Now I am dream of seeing again those faces from long ago Some might make it home this time they say that they’d let me know I guess I’ll have to be patient until then Hoping we will be together standing around the tree I’ll be waiting for Christmas this year Now I dream of peace on earth And good will to all men But I guess we’re all just waiting until then Maybe all our hopes and dreams just might come true this year We’re all waiting for Christmas Soon we’ll return to far and near and I’ll pack up the tree and start waiting for Christmas next year

“[David Woodard] is back with another EP and it is even more impressive. Everything in Between has some superior jangle pop with ‘We’re Not Coming Back,’ a cracking holiday tune in ‘Waiting for Christmas,’ and a nice cover of Nick Lowe’s brilliant ‘What’s So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding.’ But undoubtedly the standout track is the ready-for-chart-action single, ‘Nine Hundred Ninety Nine’ with its unmistakable Matthew Sweet vibe. This guy is going places!”

"[David Woodard’s} first EP " I Used to Be Cool" was a really nice surprise for me and ended up on my top 2018 EP list. If it's possible, [Everything in Between] is even better! 6 songs to enjoy from start to end. Really hard to find a favorite, because every song just hits the right spot... " We're not coming back" and " Everything in Between" has a beatlesque feel with great harmonies, "Nine Hundred Ninety Nine" is a perfect jangle pop song, " Flipped the Script" is the one that stuck with me at the first listen...such a complex song with great lyrics... And closing the album a remarkable cover of "(What's so funny bout') Peace, Love and Understanding and a sweet Christmas song as a bonus track. If you put both EPs together you get one of the best albums of the last couple of years!!"

“The latest EP from Nashville’s David Woodard entitled Everything in Between harkens back to the mid 60’s Beatles sound that power pop fans know so well and love so much. A thumping kick drum, chiming guitar and tambourine lead to a catchy chorus and some wonderful harmonies in the opener, ‘We’re Not Coming Back.’ ‘Nine Hundred Ninety Nine’ is a real earworm with a bouncy beat and the kind of chorus that not only sticks but has you singing along. Everybody loves a counting song and ‘Nine Hundred….’ is one of my favorites of the year.

The cover of Nick Lowe’s ‘What’s so Funny (‘bout Peace, Love & Understanding)’ is an interesting choice. The band stays pretty much true to the original. I would have preferred a new interpretation as no one (and I mean no one) can top Lowe’s original version – Not even EC. That said, Woodard does a more than credible job with it. The disc concludes with the shimmering guitars and lovely harmonies of a bonus track called ‘Waiting for Christmas.’” —Power Pop News (www.powerpopnews.com)

“More quality powerpop from David Woodard featuring his Rubber Soul era Beatle sound and his take on the Elvis Costello cover of Nick Lowe’s [(What’s So Funny ‘bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding]. For pop melody lovers enjoyment. Pity that it is only an EP.”—Mi Tocadiscos Dual (mitocadiscosdual.blogspot.com)

“One of the pleasant surprises of the year that comes to us from Nashville are these handmade jangle-pop melodies with influences from Beatles, Teenage Fanclub, Nick Lowe, Byrds, Elvis Costello ... To enjoy each and every one of the six pieces.”

"David Woodard has a new EP ready, and he’s upped his game with 'We’re Not Coming Back,' a Beatles-styled gem that sticks fast. The title track ('Everything in Between') pours it on thick, with horns and a march-like rhythm straight out of 'It’s Getting Better.' Next, 'Nine Hundred Ninety Nine' recalls P.Hux with its melodic chorus. Not a bad track in the bunch."

"The EP Everything in Between offers an impeccable beginning with guitar and vocal harmonies that sneak into the marrow with 'We're Not Coming Back' and puts us on alert that there is invigorating material here. This is quickly corroborated with the title song, 'Everything in Between,' that circulates between influences of the Beatles and the Electric Light Orchestra.

This style is further refined with 'Nine Hundred Ninety Nine,' which recalls the melodic powerpop of Teenage Fanclub, and then definitively reaffirmed with 'Flipped the Script,' a piece of pure gold.

Everything in Between is the second EP released by David Woodard, an unknown in Spain, after his debut 'I Used to Be Cool' from 2018. This melodic janglepop delicacy, a style loved by a dedicated sector of music fans, was recorded in Nashville.

This excellent EP finishes with a tasty version of Nick Lowe's '(What’s So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love & Understanding,' originally recorded by Brinsley Schwarz, and concludes with a very Byrds sounding Christmas celebration that was released as a single last year, 'Waiting for Christmas.' Without any waste, here are half a dozen couplets to enjoy".

"David Woodard had one of my favorite EPs last year with his debut I Used to Be Cool, and he's followed that up with another winner of an EP. Last time around I said his sound reminded me of fellow Nashvillian Bill Lloyd and nothing here changes that, with the jangly and catchy 'We're Not Coming Back' opening the proceedings. Meanwhile, the title track conjures 'Penny Lane', 'Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine' is effortlessly melodic and 'Flipped the Script' brings Teenage Fanclub to mind. Along with these four, Woodard throws in a fine cover of '(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love & Understanding' and a remix of last year's holiday single 'Waiting for Christmas'."

"‘Nine Hundred Ninety Nine’ is grounded in a simple but memorable 12-string guitar figure. Layer on 60’s harmonies and New Wave drums, and we have the perfect janglepop track, in your head today but retro enough to make you wish you could have heard it over the single dashboard speaker of a mist-green Chevy Impala’s AM radio."

David Woodard Nashville, Tennessee

David Woodard returns with GET IT GOOD, a full-length effort full of his trademark sugar-sweet melodies and harmonies. There is much more here than throwbacks to the Liverpool’s favorite sons. David influences are often on his sleeve as overtones of Fountains of Wayne, Cheap Trick, Big Star, The Rolling Stones, and even boygenius trickle from your speakers like familiar friends. ... more
